Surface is an America Sci-fi show created by Jonas and Josh Pate, that premiered on NBC on September 19, 2005. In only ran for 15 episodes and unfortunately ended on a massive cliff-hanger. The finale episode aired on February 6th, 2006. On May 15, 2006, NBC officially announced that the series had been cancelled after one season. Surface was released in the same period as shows like Invasion and Threshold. All 3 shows did not go beyond the first season. 

Although I did like Surface, it was my third favorite of the new Sci-fi shows that graced our TV screens back in 2005. It certainly was an entertaining show but especially in the first couple of episodes the teen Miles Barnett got a little too much screentime in my opinion. Later on in the season this was adjusted a bit and the character Miles got a bit more interesting also. The last couple of episodes really were good, right up to the series finale. 

Premise: A marine biologist, an insurance salesman and a teen-aged boy find their lives fundamentally changed by the emergence of a new, and often dangerous, species of sea life, while government agents work to keep the affair under wraps.
