Last Rewatch: S1 06/05/2021 - 11/06/2021 - First Watch S2: March/May 2022- First Watch S3: February/May 2023

IMDb: At the end of the 24th Century, and 14 years after his retirement from Starfleet, Jean-Luc Picard is living a quiet life on his vineyard, Chateau Picard. When he is sought out by a mysterious young woman, Dahj, in need of his help, he soon realizes she may have personal connections to his own past.

Star Trek: Picard first aired January 23rd 2020 with a 10 episode first season which ended on March 26. If covid19 hadn't happened we most likely already would have had a second season by now. If we are lucky it will now arrive at the end of this year but more likely it will be early 2022.

When the rumors about a new Star Trek series about Patrick Stewart's character Picard became a real thing I was very excited because finally after 20 years the storyline of TNG, DS9 and Voyager era would continue. This for me was the main reason I was so very excited about the new Star Trek show. For a couple of reasons, to name a few: I was done with the prequels (although I am a fan of Star Trek: Enterprise) and it also made it possible to do cross-overs from TNG, DS9 and Voyager, which of course did happen.

A little sidestep about the other live-action Star Trek series, Discovery. I've watched the first 3 seasons, and then I decided to stop watching it. Season two was a decent season, mostly because of Pike. I haven't got this problem with the Picard series. I kind of like the story-line, like most of the characters and of course the cross-overs are and extra plus because it's possible because it continues the TNG era. Yes the first two seasons are not in the same league as the third season, but I can enjoy it nonetheless. Perhaps its nostalgia speaking here, but at least the 3rd season felt like old times again!

A shame that only Worf is the only main DS9 character we've seen in Picard, but that is mainly because he originates from The Next Generation. I really would have like to have Bashir or maybe O'Brien or perhaps even Quark.

Final thing, what's strange is that on Rotten Tomatoes (16/05/2021) is very well received by the critics (87%) but the audience clearly has a different opinion! Only 56%!
