I enjoyed the second season of Star Trek: Picard, although I have to be honest I cannot remember much of it, my memory is a blessing but also a curse at times. Anyway it took me quite a while before I decided to purchase this Blu-ray set so perhaps there was some hesitation from my side. The trailer for the 3rd season was for me deciding because I really look forward to seeing the other characters again and already convinced myself I want to purchase the 3rd season as soon as it is released. Because I also own the first season, there was no other option than to also purchase season two.
As I said, I did liked it, there were some things that bothered me a bit, like the Borg Queen and Q also, can't really explain it at this point, that I will do with my rewatch in a few months. And perhaps with the rewatch I'll think about it differently.
With this Unboxing blog I want to show you in detail what kind of a release this is. It is obviously a fairly standard release, however it has some artwork on the inside of the cover which is always nice. I hope this blog helps you to decide whether or not to purchase the second season.
It is the UK set, as always the Blu-ray case is slightly thicker than the North American counterpart. It has a sleeve over it. Not sure how it is called but I do not believe it is a slip-cover. You can put the Blu-ray disc vertically in the sleeve, from top to bottom or the other way around if you like! It has multiple audio tracks as you can see below, same for subtitles, 11 subtitles, a 3 disc set and hour of special features, here you can see it more in detail. It is the North American release but in that regard the release is the same. Furthermore, the UK set is region free.

Star Trek: Picard is perhaps not what every fan envisioned it to be, myself included. I hoped we would have seen more cameo’s from other the other Star Trek shows, in particular Deep Space Nine or Voyager. But still, even only because the connection, Picard, with the Star Trek period I love, it is worth a rewatch. For that reason alone I am happy they thought up this show. I really hope we will see a Deep Space Nine cameo in season 3, that would make it perfect for me. Besides that, seeing most of the TNG characters again, is something I was hoping for more thana decade now since TNG’s last movie Nemesis.
