Dark Matter started in 2015 on Syfy Channel, alongside Killjoys and also The Expanse. Finally we had not one, not two but three shows back in space! How cool was that! Dark Matter was created by some Stargate veterans Joseph Mallozzi and Paul Mullie.

Besides an amazing regular cast, it also had some amazing guest stars: Torri Higginson, David Hewlett (Stargate Atlantis); David Richmond-Peck (Orphan Black, V 2009, Fringe); Ennis Esmer (The Listener) and Wil Wheaton (Star Trek TNG, The Big Bang Theory, Eureka). And many more.

Dark Matter soon became a favorite of mine, I like how the show started, 5 people awoken, know nothing about themselves and each other and need to work together while trying to find out who they are and what they have done to landed in their current situation.

It's a real shame Dark Matter was cancelled after only 3 seasons, I believe the creators Joseph Mallozzi and Paul Mullie had a beginning, a middle and end in mind which would span 5 seasons. Killjoys got 5 seasons, while Dark Matter was cancelled that same day. I always wondered why they didn't renew both shows for each 10 episodes? This probably would have made the fans happy to have one more season of both shows and it would have given the creators the opportunity to end it to their and the fans' satisfaction, eventhough they would have come up a season short.

The six-person crew of a derelict spaceship awakens from stasis in the farthest reaches of space. Their memories wiped clean, they have no recollection of who they are or how they got on board. The only clue to their identities is a cargo bay full of weaponry and a destination: a remote mining colony that is about to become a war zone. With no idea whose side they are on, they face a deadly decision. Will these amnesiacs turn their backs on history, or will their pasts catch up with them?
