Colony first premiered on USA Network in 2016 on January 14. On July 21, 2018 Colony was cancelled after 3 seasons. Created by Carlton Cuse, who also created my favorite crime show Nash Bridges and also responsible (in part) for Lost, Bates Motel and The Strain. And much more.

An invasion show where you hardly see the aliens, especially not the first season. But what's great about this show, you don't really need the aliens, you are reminded enough about their presence and about how forceful they rule. 

I was looking forward to this for a while before it started and I have to say I love it, still do indeed! Currently (January 2021) rewatching the show on Blu-ray which finally has completely been released in Germany. Season 3 was released in November 2020, six months after the 2nd season. 

The show has received generally positive reviews! On Rotten Tomatoes the average Tomatometer is 92%, while the audience score is 85%! On Metacritic Colony holds a score of 69/100, based on 24 reviews, indicating generally favorable reviews and audience give an 8.2, so those are really great numbers. Unfortunately these very positive numbers do not give any rights to a renewel.

Plot (Wiki): The series begins less than a year after the arrival of aliens who occupy Earth. It follows the Bowmans and their extended family in Los Angeles. Their son, Charlie, was on a school sports trip and was separated from them when alien walls sectioned off part of the city. The father, Will Bowman, is a former FBI agent and retired Army Ranger who reluctantly joins the Redhats (humans collaborating with the aliens) and is tasked with tracking down members of the Resistance, after being threatened that he and his family would be sent to "the Factory" if he did not comply.
