Colony is no V, it’s very careful not to show any alien life but the result is the same. This show comes close to home in these uncertain times. It’s very constricting, it is not in the future, so you are wondering, could this happen today, with or without aliens. I think the creators did a very well job conveying this feeling to the audience. When you are watching this, now and again you will be appalled by the violence these collaborators use on their own people, their former friends, neighbors or even family members. It’s no V… but at least as much interesting as the original miniseries.

Colony Season 2 begins with a flashback of the day of the arrival, Snyder is recruited by accomplices of the Alien oppressors. Important people are being kidnapped, electricity is out. Broussard comes home from a warzone, on day of the arrival of the oppressors, Broussard’s mother dies. Will tries to get to his son Charlie who is not home but can’t get through because giant walls are being placed, closing off the way to his son.  Present time, Will has managed to get to Santa Monica, searching for his son, he gets stabbed, he goes to house of his old partner Devon who he accused of being dirty.

With the help of Devon, Will finds Charlie, he’s in a gang led by a Solomon, who is a dirtbag and he has hurt Charlie. Will kills Solomon and together with Devon makes his way to the wall, because they are going over! Bram is locked up in a Labor camp, Katie asks Maddie for help, to talk to Nolan, but Nolan is not so eager to help. Because Katie also tries to talk to Nolan herself, which makes Maddie upset. Maddie gets initiated with a ceremony into the colony's elite and Jennifer tells Katie she knows what she’s done and that she need to give her Broussard.

Bram has a tough time in the labor camp, he has been beaten up and his shoes have been stolen. Jennifer pressures Katie to give her Broussard, her boss needs results, otherwise Jennifer will be sent to the factory. Will, Charlie and Devon and others are climbing the wall, which takes long, secured with a drone robe. An alien drone comes up to them and obliterates everybody except Will and Charlie. The drone “watches” them for a while before moving off. Katie and Maddie make up, just when Katie prepares for her capture, because of Jennifer, Will comes home with Charlie.

Jennifer is in trouble; she must give her source up which is Katie, but she still refuses to do that. Charlie is setting at home, but Will is furious with Katie for endangering their family with the resistance. Meanwhile she watched to bowman house, homeland has cameras placed in the house, in all houses, what we saw at the end of the first season. She hears Katie saying she has no idea where Broussard is, she’s afraid but Will tells her, Jennifer can be handled, she’s weak! An angry Jennifer almost gives Will and Katie up but does not go through with it. She deletes all the incriminating videos of the Bowman residence. She goes home, while watching a video of her deceased husband and their dog, she takes lots of pills, it looks like a suicide. Meanwhile Will realizes the house is bugged.

Bram has become Snyder’s informant, but he feeds him false information to help the resistance inside the camp. Will goes back to homeland and after a brief interrogation. Jennifer is no longer there; she’s been transferred is the story. Will sees big room where everybody, including his family, is being monitored. Lindsey and Charlie do not go together, and Katie throws her out, but later Katie goes to Maddie to try and mend what she did to Lindsey, and she finds out Maddie is truly believer of “Greatest Day”. While there Katie downloads a file, which has sensitive information in it.

Will tries to open the file on a Homeland computer but he does not have clearance. He asks Betty to help but she is transferred very soon after she attempted to help, because his new partner barges in. Morgan needs help, BB is sick. Katie asks Will for help and he kidnaps a doctor. BB has severe radiation, probably from the drone. Nolan and Maddie visit the labor camp where Bram is, Maddie visits Bram, while Nolan wants to see some shipment which is headed off planet. Bram’s friends in the camp have a bomb! Snyder informs Helena about Nolan’s visit.

Will’s boss is not happy with both Will and his partner and give them one more change. Bram is asked to steal a pass from Snyder’s office next time he is there. He misleads Snyder by saying there are camp workers who want to escape. Nolan asks Maddy about the file, but she denies involvement. Katie apologizes to Lindsey and Broussards team find out that there is a countdown and when it hits zero, humanity will be obliterated. Will, no longer can work for Homeland, he hates what he has to do, Katie tells him she wants back with the resistance and Will agrees. A bomb goes off at the labor camp, Maya, who uses the pass Bram gave her, sacrifices herself and blows up a ship headed off world.

The labor camp is in trouble, Snyder tries to pretend that it did not happen in his camp and cleans everything up. Emmett, the boy Will let go earlier, has been caught. Will is afraid he will break and tell him who let him go. Eckhart wants to turn in Broussard in the hopes he can go free. But Broussard kills him, with the help of Morgan. Will meets Frankie’s mother Karen, in the house where Frankie was found. Will let’s her go and later learns from the interrogation of Emmett that Karen is the leader of the Red hands! Helena comes to Snyder’s labor camps to take Snyder with her because the hosts are bombing the camp as punishment. Snyder takes Bram with him and drops him at his parents who have been relocated because their house was raided, Linsey is killed during this raid.

Will’s partner is on to him, Will’s partner finds out Maddie is Katie’s sister and he also theorizes that Katie is the one who stole the files from Burgess’ computer. An airplane has been shot down, one, the pilot, survives. Pilot escapes, a radio is found. Homeland wants the pilot found. Will cover is blown now, he’s on his way meeting Katie and Broussard but figures he’s been followed. Will gets arrested and their kids are taken into custody by the Red Hats. Will gives in when he learns his kid have been taken. But when he learns that his kids have been freed by Broussard and Katie, he mortally would his partner and escapes. The Pilot saves Will from his pursuers. Will returns to the resistance hideout and sees all his kids. The Pilot, Noa, wants to meet Broussard, the gauntlet Broussard stole, can be helpful in the fight against the oppressors. She also tells Broussard she’s working for a man who was in Broussard’s unit in 2010.

Maddie is being interrogated because of the files that were downloaded. She gives up her sister to avoid the factory. They propose a meet, but Katie and Will expect a double cross. But they need a car from the blackjacks who can drive from district to district without inspection. Bram is angry with his parents and goes to Karen, head of the resistance cell Red Hands, Frankie’s mother. Nolan does not know if Maddie can be saved now that Katie, Broussard, or Will hasn’t been captured. Snyder is back in the service of Helena.

Bram has joined Red Hands and are attacking high function personnel in the green zone. Bram breaks into an ambassador’s house with Patrick and Bram kills the ambassador after Patrick has been killed. He goes to Maddie and asks her for help, leaving the killing part. Snyder just left that house to convince the ambassador that the current proxy is unfit for this posting. Maddie reluctantly helps Bram and drives him home but at the gate the security officer informs Maddie of what has happened in the green zone and that Bram most likely was a part of it. She covers for him but when they pass the checkpoint, she throws him out of the car. At home Bram lies about what happened. Snyder also was in the green zone and barely got out of it. He thinks he can find something on the proxy.

Broussard wants the gauntlet and therefore needs to contact the Red Hands who has stolen it. They meet but Karen, their leader does not want to give it up. She refuses, she doesn’t trust them because they work with people who she thinks of as collaborators. Nolan first has sex with Maddie and then betrays her. She’s going to the factory. But Snyder sees an opportunity, strikes a deal with Maddie. She tells everything she knows about Nolan, who gets arrested. Maddie goes free but without her son, who is a camp for children, but Maddie does not know where he is. Broussard, Will, Morgen, Katie and Noa attack the Red Hand because Morgan followed them back with a tiny drone. They kill lots of Red Hand, also their leader but she kills Noa. They now have the gauntlet but do not know the contacts Noa had. Broussard, like Will earlier, is spared by those alien attack drones. Maddie is free to go but without her son, Nolan goes to the factory. Helena Goldwyn receives a call from the Global Authority: LA has been scheduled for total rendition.

Orders are given to evacuate the LA bloc to San Fernando, but in fact they will be all sent to the factory or even die. Snyder learns the real reason, the hosts want that gauntlet found. The blackjacks are after Will, Katie and Broussard, the found them but the blackjacks are killed as a result. Will want to make a deal with Snyder so he can get the gauntlet, but Snyder wants to come with them, instead of being a collaborator. With Snyder’s help they overtake Snyder’s security detail but the shift sergeant at the gateway is suspicious and is about to open the case of the gauntlet. Will reveals himself, there is a stand-off but Will, Katie and Snyder can convince the sergeant to let them through. As the drive away they see ships descend and while no-one is watching him, he activates an electronic device. Broussard remains in the bloc and Maddie’s fate is unclear as she is turned away at the greatest day temple and taken to an evacuation center.

What are the best episodes: Well this is kind of hard to say because it’s just one great story, every episode is engaging, exciting full of suspense. If I have to pick I think the one, episode 12, where Will, Katie and Broussard attack the Red Hands to get back the gauntlet. Hope you enjoyed it, I am in the process of trying to keep it shorter, a bit less detail, but this is hard to do, but I will get there eventually.
