Let me first say that I truly loved Travelers from the get go. Thought it was an exciting, thought provoking show with interesting characters, great stories. When it was announced that it got a Blu-ray release I was very excited. My favorite media is definitely Blu-ray, to watch your favorite shows in the best possible picture quality on your TV.

Reason why I doubted for so long of course is that the third and final season still hasn't been released on Blu-ray. I believe it even hasn't got a DVD release yet and I am afraid there won't be a physical media release of the third season. We can keep hoping, and I will anyway but I don't expect it at this point. Perhaps there is a possibility that another distributor, let's say, in Germany pics up the release of this series.

Last week I noticed the dropped in price to £12.99 per season. They probably at some point will drop to £9.99 but I didn't want to wait any longer, especially when I learned both seasons have English subtitles. This means at the moment, when I start a rewatch I will watch the third season on Netflix but so be it. It is also my way of supporting the release of physical media.

The release of the first two seasons of Travelers is a standard one, to be honest and that is how I like it! Yes, I don't need these special releases which often are bigger and stuff. A standard release is difficult enough to add on my shelves. Space is not something I have loads of in regard of my collection. Dazzler media is the distributor, a small company in the UK who is also responsible for the upcoming release For All Mankind! At least I hope it not be postponed again. So as said, The Travelers Blu-ray sets both have English subtitles, although on the cover of the second season it is not mentioned, it however does have English subs. Also see a picture below where I tested this on my TV. As you can see, you can select on or off subtitles. I also want to caution you because this really is region code B! I tested it in my Blu-ray player, I have a region free player but when I set it on region code A it does not play unfortunately. So if you live in North America, you will need to have a region free player or purchase a region B player on top of your region A player. Unfortunately the sound is a missed opportunity, only Stereo 2.0.

Final Word:

I realize it is a fairly standard release, so why do an unboxing? Well because it is nice to see a release up-close, the disc art, the possible art on the inside of the cover, has it subtitles, is it region free or not, are there extra's and so on. It is just nice to get a closer look than what you see on the website you purchase this. I am really looking forward to rewatching this, not sure when it will happen because I have more shows which I are planning to rewatch and currently I am rewatching way too many shows with way too little time! I am confident I am going to rewatch it this year! If you need any more info about this release, please let me know.
