When I first watched The Middleman, back in 2008, I really loved it! It was absurd, it was funny, good stories and characters and it was different, quite different. After the first watch, back in 2008, I never watched it again. Always planning to buy it, because reruns in my country of shows like this are rare. But what kept me from buying was at first it was kinda expensive, furthermore, It lacks English subtitles which I really find handy and third, it was released on DVD and for a long time I was stuborn because for quite some time I didn't buy a TV show if it wasn't released on Blu-ray!

Well times have changed, a TV show on Blu-ray  never really was the standard but last few years this has become less and less so. So if I want to see older shows, I cannot be this stuborn anymore and I will have to purchase DVD sets or try to find them on a streaming service, preferably on a service I am a member of.

So that's why, in the last few months, I purchased 7 Days, Blake's 7 and of course also The Middleman. Below you will find as much details as possible about this release from Shout! Factory in 2009. Unfortunately, as far as I know, this show has only been released in North America so it is either this set or nothing. If you have any more questions, please let me know in the comments.

Why this unboxing blog? Because when I look for a certain TV show I always want to know what kind of release it is, thick box, thin box, slip cover or no slip cover. How are the DVD's or the Blu-ray's stored and so on. So I figure, there must be more of those nerds like me who want to know this beforehand. So that's way I started this "Unboxing" series, hopefully this way I can help others with this and other series to decide if they want to purchase it or not.

Final Word:

A nice compact release, two slim 7mm DVD boxes in a slipcover, each DVD box holds two DVD's. The set has some nice special features, as you can see on the pictures. Unfortunately no English subtitles but I think I will manage but it would be nice for the people with HoH if there would be English subs. In my humble opinion this should be Mandatory on all DVD and Blu-ray sets. But who am I... Anyway I hope you have find this helpful and if you have any more questions about The Middleman, or perhaps of other releases, please let me know in the comments.
