It was in 2012 that I purchased the first series of Space 1999 on Blu-ray. Although I had see many old SCI-FI shows in those days, I had never before seen Space 1999. I watched the first series back in 2012 and I seem to remember I liked it, decided to wanted to also purchase the 2nd series. Not sure if it was available at that time already, but I do seem to remember that it was always a very expensive buy.
Every so many years I went looking for it but I never purchased it because of the high price. Last month I finally purchased it, but not the second series, but the complete series! This because they were approximately as expensive and this complete series set with 10 discs is thinner than my first series set which contains 7 discs. I am planning to start watching it as soon as I am done with the first series of Blake’s 7.
The box itself is a standard 25mm thick and contains 10 discs, 5 discs per season. The set has English subtitles and loads of special features as you can see here on the backside of the Blu-ray set. Presented in 1080P HD 1.33:1. The series is presented in 5.1 sound and is region code B, not sure if it is actually playable on a region A or C player. There is some inside art but the episodes titles and the extra’s you can find there too. It is a compact set for two big seasons of 24 episodes, this I like a lot!

Final Word:
It has been a long time since I’ve watched the first series and I never watched series two. I’ve read series two is not of the same quality as the first series, still I am looking forward to watching the complete series for the first time. Since I started to watch Blake’s 7 1st series on Blu-ray, I have an itch for older, 1970’s shows like Space 1999, Star Trek TOS, Logan’s Run and such. In 2023 I already rewatched Buck Rogers in the 25th Century and in 2021 I rewatched Battlestar Galactica TOS.
