However, when I checked it again on Amazon last week, to my surprise Amazon let me find it and I was also able to purchase it! The price, still kinda high, $50. Normally you’d say, this is not high for 3 seasons and you are correct but I have to pay $23 extra for shipping and Taxes. So all in all it is still steep but I wanted it for so long, after a few days of doubt, I finally did it. It will be here around December 15 approximately. So I will have to be patient for a week or two but that is not a problem because I won’t start a rewatch before we are in 2023.

Why this “unboxing” blog, well because for a while now I’ve been trying to find out more about this release, how is it packed, does it have subtitles yes or no, are there special features on it, etc. So I figured If I am looking for more info about this release, perhaps there are more people who are interested and want to have more details about the release. I expect a bare release, but I don’t mind, as long as there is no damage, the discs are not damaged and such. I’ve also read enough negative comments about other VEI releases so I hope at least the discs will play correctly, that is the least I expect. Well it has arrived, well packaged, no damage! Unfortunately it was already dark when it arrived so I had to wait till next day to make some well lit pictures. Although I could not resist to open the box already but I did make some less lit pictures from the box with the cellophane still on it.

Final Word:

Well as expected, it is a bare release, only the TV show is on it, nothing more, no extra's no commentaries, nothing. But as I said, I did not expect anything else. So the 3 seasons are on 12 discs, usually 6 episodes on a discs, a few times there are 5 episodes on a disc. Unfortunately it is also missing English HoH subtitles, would have been nice and I don't understand why this isn't mandatory especially people who are hard of hearing. On the websites, the DVD box looks very thick but this isn't the case in reality, it is a sleek set, sturdy, elegant almost, with slip over it. The discs are not in standard holders but almost in a booklet where the discs are protected as you can see on the pictures. This is the way VEI stores their discs, probably to prevent damage. What surprises me also is the date on the back, it says 2022, which probably means a bit like a second and third print and so on, of a book. So it seems to me this set has been produced this year. Well I plan to start rewatching it early 2023, although I already have a few other shows on the planning so I have to see when exactly but I can assure you, I am looking forward to it!
