Plot (IMDb): Timeless tells the story of a mysterious criminal who steals a secret state-of-the-art time machine, intent on destroying America as we know it by changing the past. The only hope is an unexpected team: a scientist, a soldier and a history professor, who must use the machine's prototype to travel back in time to critical events. While they must make every effort not to affect the past themselves, they must also stay one step ahead of this dangerous fugitive. But can this handpicked team uncover the mystery behind it all and end his destruction before it's too late?

Timeless premiered on NBC on October 3rd 2016. The last episode aired December 20, 2018. Timeless is and will be unique for quite some time regarding their cancellation debacle! Due to low ratings Timeless was can cancelled after only one season. However 3 days later Timeless was uncancelled after negotiations with Sony Pictures Television. I also believe that there was a big uproar from the fans on social media to uncancel the show! Timeless got a new lease on life and got a 10-episode second season which premiered on March 18, 2011.

On June 22, 2018 NBC cancelled Timeless after it's second season. Again social media exploded, fans begged and demanded NBC to uncancel Timeless for a second time! On July 31, 2018 NBC did what most networks would never have done, they announced that they ordered a 2-hour movie which would conclude the series. The 2-hour movie aired just before Chrismas in 2018 and also had a Christmas title named: The Miracle of Christmas. Thank you NBC! Much Appreciated!

Timeless is created by Shawn Ryan, whom you might know of his work on Nash Bridges or Angel. And also Eric Kripke whom you might know from Supernatural, Revolution and The Boys, to name a few. Timeless was long considered as one of NBC' hot pilots, it was ordered to series on May 13, 2016, after lengthy negotiations to obtain the series' "in-season stacking rights", which allow a network to stream all episodes of a series' current season via all the network's online platforms. Timeless generally received positive reviews from television critics. On Rotten Tomatoes it does remarkably well! Overal it scores 91% Critics Reviews and 87% Audience approval, per season this looks as impressive. You wonder why apparently the ratings weren't enough for more seasons. Perhaps in part this also has to do with archaic way of measuring ratings.

Finally I want to say something about the physical media and of course I want to highlight the Australian Blu-ray release! This is currently the only country where this show has been released on Blu-ray! Both seasons individual but also as a complete series, including the 2-hour series finale.
