Special Unit 2 is an American SCI-FI comedy series that aired on the UPN form April 11, 2001 and the last episode aired on February 13th, 2002. It ran for two seasons, the first season only contained 6 episodes, season two had 13 episodes.

The Premise:

Special Unit 2 is about a secret Chicago Police Department division that hunts and contains mythological creatures called "Links," which are the "missing link" between humans and beasts, featuring detectives Nick O'Malley and Kate Benson as they battle everything from gargoyles to mermen while keeping their existence hidden from the public.

It really is loads of fun, I only saw it for the first time about 12 years ago, Michael Landes as Nick O'Malley, together with detective Kate Benson (Alexondra Lee) they fight crime in their city. These two characters really was the heart of the show, had very good chemistry together.

In 2017 Visual Entertainment released the complete series on DVD. Unfortunately via normal means this set is no longer available. There are people who offer it on EBAY, but at ludicrous prices because the DVD set is out of print. Perhaps interesting to you, the complete series is available for free on Youtube!
