Space Rangers is an America SCI-FI TV drama. The show aired on CBS on Januari 6th, 1993. Only 3 days after the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine pilot aired. Space Rangers was created by Pen Densham and Trilogy Entertainment Group.

Premise:

In the year 2104, the Earth colony Fort Hope on the distant planet Avalon struggles to survive. A small force of police/marines called the "Space Rangers Corps" are the only line of defense for the colonists against crime and the perils of interstellar exploration. The series concentrates on Captain John Boon and his team of Rangers aboard Ranger Slingship #377.

Space Rangers was produced as a six episode miniseries by CBS, however, the show was cancelled before it could finish its short run! Only the first 4 episodes initially aired. According to its creator Pen Densham, he developed the series for several years under a different name: Planetbusters. He emphasized that wasn't pure science-fiction, like Star Trek, but more focused on action-adventure.

In the United States the complete series was released on DVD in 2013. In Germany the complete series was released a few years earlier on DVD, back in 2011, which is currently (9-26) still available. It also has an audio soundtrack.
