Smallville first aired on October 6th, 2001 and ended 10 years later on May 13th 2011. Ten seasons of Smallville, quite an accomplishment. It aired on The WB and CW, it did rather well ratings wise. On Rotten Tomatoes it still is much appreciated by critics and fans (78%/69%). I think it was 2013 or 2014 when I watched the final season, so it has been awhile since I last seen Smallville, but I always enjoyed it.

I've never really been into comics so what I know of this world I know from TV shows like Smallville, Arrow and Flash and so on. I also saw most of the Superman movies but it is not something I totally can sink my teeth into. I stopped watching Arrow and The Flash but Smallville I did finish because I really enjoyed it all the way while Arrow and The Flash couldn't hold my interest after the first few seasons.

What I do find annoying is that keep rehashing the stories in a new TV shows and movies, the story has been told so many times by now over the years. I think Tom Welling did a great job, he was a bit stiff in the beginning but this soon changed and he had a great cast surrounding him with his parents (John Schneider & Annette O'Toole). Other cast members John Glover, Erica Durance, Aaron Ashmore, Allison Mack, Kristin Kreuk and Michael Rosenbaum to name a few.

I did own some seasons on DVD and Blu-ray at one time, though I sold these sets in anticipation of a complete series on Blu-ray, which came a few years ago but I still didn't make the purchase! Still I hope I am able to rewatch it sometime in the near future!
