Painkiller Jane first aired on April 13th, 2007 on the Sci-Fi channel, later became Syfy channel. It was based  on a comic book character. The final episode aired on September 21st 2007. It was cancelled after only one season of 22 episodes, back in the day when Syfy still produced long seasons.

The show wasn't perfect, but I did mostly enjoy it. It has a great cast: Kristanna Loken, Rob Stewart, Alaina Kalanj, Sean Owen Roberts, Noah Danby, Stephen Lobo and Nathaniel Deveaux. All of these actors have become respectable TV actors, I have to admit though that I never again watched anything with Loken in it.

It did get a DVD release back in the day, which I own a copy of, I am looking forward to another rewatch somewhere in the near future. As I said, don't expect a fantastic TV show but it still is interesting, it is enjoyable for the most part.

Premise:

The premise of Painkiller Jane centers on Jane Vasko, a DEA agent who discovers she has superhuman self-healing abilities, including the ability to survive what should be fatal injuries. She is recruited by a secret government agency that hunts other genetically enhanced individuals with "neurological" powers, and she must now use her own abilities while trying to understand them.
