Last Rewatch: 2014 - 2015

Lost premiered on September 22, 2004 and the last episode aired on May 23, 2010. It ended with season 6 with an arguably controversial series finale. Of course you also cannot label it as being cancelled. From the very first episode, Lost grabbed me by the throat and before I knew it, on that first night, I was 7 episodes into the first season.

 

No matter if you are a fan or not, Lost was a great show, with fantastic actors and a great setting. What also is very appealing of course were the time-jumps, which allowed you to learn more about the characters. It is a large ensemble show, and as I said, it really is a engaging show, with lots of drama, action and of course a dosis of SCI-FI.

 

Lost definitely belongs in this overview, and I really enjoyed most of the series. What I didn't like was the series finale, after watching Lost a second time back in 2014/2015 or something I sold my complete Blu-ray set because I knew I wouldn't watch it again knowing how the show would end. Of course there are folks who like the finale, I didn't, I felt somewhat the same way about the Dexter series finale.

 

On Rotten Tomatoes Lost does well as a complete series, 85% critics approval, 91% audience. If you split this up per season, mainly the last season, season 6, has a much lower rating than the other seasons, 68%. Most probably due to the finale, because I believe there are more folks who dislike the series finale episode.

Plot (IMDb): The past, present, and future lives of surviving Oceanic Flight 815 passengers are dramatically intertwined as a fight for survival ensues in a quest for answers after crashlanding on a mysterious island. Each discovery prompts yet more secrets, as the hastily-formed colony search for a way off the island, or is this their home?
