The Knight Rider, first aired on September 26th, 1982 and lasted 4 seasons. The final episode aired on April 4th, 1986 on NBC. However, five years after the last episode, on May 19th, 1991, a TV movie was released named: Knight Rider 2000. The show was created by Glen A. Larson, who is also responsible for shows like Battelestar Galactica, Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, The Fall Guy, Magnum PI and many, many more shows. The show stars David Hasselhoff as Michael Knight, a sleek and modern crime fighter assisted by KITT, an advanced, artificially intelligent, self-aware, and nearly indestructible car.

 

A number of times it has been tried to reboot the show one way or another. After the Knight Rider 2000 movie there was also The Knight Rider 2010 movie, which aired on February 13th, 1994 on NBC, without David Hasselhoff. In 1997 there was the short lived Team Knight Rider. In 2008 a TV movie, served as a pilot for a new 2008 TV series that aired. It wasn't a big success, it was cancelled after a short season. In 1985, a spin-off series, Code of Vengeance, also premiered. The Dalton character was created for Mouth of the Snake, the backdoor pilot aired as a second-season episode of Knight Rider in 1984. This also wasn't a success. Still, the original Knight Rider is still very popular, proof of this has to be the complete series in 4K release.
