Last Rewatch: 15/09/2020 -  11/02/2021

Plot (IMDb) - The FBI teams up with a formerly-institutionalized scientist - who was performing experiments on the fringe of real science - and his son to investigate weird crimes that are seemingly part of a larger pattern, and may be connected with a global company called Massive Dynamic.

Fringe first aired on FOX on Septemnber 8, 2008. The last episode aired on January 13, 2013. It ran 5 seasons and 100 episodes in total. The first season mostly consisted of standalone episodes with every week a new mystery. In season two Fringe started to become more serialized. The first season wasn't very well received, but this changed with the following seasons.

Peculiar is that the ratings in the first season are okay but with following seasons they kept eroding. Each season it was fingers crossed for a renewel, certainly because it aired on FOX and they do not have much patience when it comes to SCI-FI. You have to give them (FOX) credit, eventhough the ratings were far from stellar, they kept it on and even renewed it for a 5th finale shortened 13-episode season. Part of the renewel of the last season of 13 episodes was because it meant it counted a total of 100 episodes which meant syndication.

Fringe has always been one of my favorite shows of the last decade, I watched it with it's original run and afterwards in 2013 on Blu-ray. Currently I have been rewatching Fringe as we speak (11/01/2021), I am well in season 4. I absolutely loved seasons 2 and 3 but season 4, which is still entertaining, it's not so enjoying for me as with the first 2 viewings. What bugs me the most this season is that it takes Peter 15 episodes before he realizes, with the help of observer September, that he actually is in his own universe. Something the viewer knows from episode 1. That really started to annoy me after a few episodes. As I said, it is still good TV. It remains one of my favorite shows.

Few things I found strange during the course of the series, but the thing I really found strangest is that we barely see Olivia's sister and her niece after the first season. Like they no longer seem to exist. Really would have liked see that relationship continued, especially with her kind of work.
