FlashForward is an American SCI-FI series, created by Star Trek legend Brannon Braga and, amongst many others, the creator of the Foundation TV series, based on the Foundation series, written by Isaac Asimov. FlashForward debuted on ABC on September 24^th, 2009 and the final episode aired on May 27^th, 2010.

FlashForward was cancelled after its first season. It is based on the 1999 novel Flashforward by Canadian science fiction writer Robert J. Sawyer. The series revolves around the lives of several people as a mysterious event causes nearly everyone on the planet to simultaneously lose consciousness for two minutes and seventeen seconds on October 6, 2009. During this blackout, people see what appear to be visions of their lives on April 29, 2010, a global "flashforward" six months into the future.

FlashForward was cancelled in May 2010, after the final episode was shot. It showed another Flashforward event happening more than 20 years into the future. We will never know more. Although, the show is based on a novel with the same name, perhaps there we can get some closure which we did not get to see on TV. It was far from a perfect show, still, it was intriguing, it had a strong cast, interesting premise. Looking forward to my first rewatch and thinking about purchasing the novel, if that is still available. The show has only been released on Blu-ray.
