Extant is American science fiction drama, created by  Mickey Fisher and Steven Spielberg as executive producer. The story revolves around astronaut Molly Woods (Halle Berry) who returns home to her family inexplicably pregnant after 13 months in outer space on a solo mission.

Extant debuted July 9, 2014 after CBS had announced it had placed a 13-episode straight-to-series order, bypassing the traditional pilot stage. It also was granted a second season but there was season 3, CBS cancelled the show on October 9th, 2015.

Back in 2013, when Extant was announced as a new SCI-FI show, I was excited because at that time, between 2011 and 2015, there wasn't a lot SCI-FI on television. Of course Halle Berry as lead in a show was also a plus. Ultimately it was not what I entirely was hoping for, still I found it to be intriguing and entertaining show. For me season two is perhaps a bit more favorable than the first season and who know what would have happened if there was a third season.

I of course was hoping that there would be more scenes on the station in space, especially, as I said, there wasn't much SCI-FI on tv since SGU was cancelled. It turned out to be a different show but I still think fondly of it when I think about it. I have both seasons on Blu-ray, want to start a rewatch a.s.a.p.
