Earth: Final Conflict, like Star Trek, like Andromeda, from the mind of Gene Roddenberry. Earth: Final Conflict first aired on October 6th 1997 and ended on May 20th 2002.
After Gene Roddenberry died in 1991, In the mid-1990s, Roddenberry's widow, Majel Barrett-Roddenberry, began to develop the project. It went into production with Tribune Entertainment. It was renamed Earth: Final Conflict to avoid confusion with the film Battlefield Earth, which was released around the same time. The success of the show led to the development of one other posthumous Roddenberry project, Andromeda. (wiki)
I have to admit I cannot judge the whole series because I haven't seen the complete series, I saw the first season a few times after I purchased it on DVD long ago but afterwards seasons 2 through 5 never been released in my country, ever! Of course you can find them online, few years back I purchased the second season from Amazon Germany, but multipe discs didn't play. This held me back from purchasing the other seasons. I did catch a few episodes here and there when it was on the Dutch television back in the day, but it was on TV daily, around 5pm.
The show had many cast changes, partially due to contractual disagreements between the cast and the producers. Almost all of the show's major characters were killed or otherwise removed within a season or two of being introduced. In fact, the only character to appear as a regular during all five seasons was FBI Agent Ronald Sandoval (Von Flores), one of the show's antagonists.
The fifth season of the show was a radical departure from the storyline of the previous seasons, with the Taelons being replaced by a new and more openly hostile alien race, a group of energy vampires called the Atavus. (wiki)
