Doctor Who is a British science fiction television series broadcast by the BBC since 1963. The series, created by Sydney Newman, C. E. Webber and Donald Wilson, depicts the adventures of an extraterrestrial being called the Doctor, part of a humanoid species called Time Lords. The Doctor travels through space and time with his spaceship The Tardis. On the outside the ship looks like a British Police Box, but the ship is being bigger on the inside, much bigger!

Most of you Sci-fi fans most likely know much more of the original Doctor Who than I do. I am sorry to say but till now, I only ever saw the fifth doctor in the early eighties and although I often read that these are not the best Doctor Who stories, still I grew up with the Fifth Doctor and his adventures and I loved it as a youngster. I never saw the first 4 doctors, same as the 6-8^th doctors.

It has aired in my country originally but unlike in other countries, I cannot remember ever seeing reruns of Doctor Who on the Dutch channels. And I never before had the desire to purchase it on physical media because it is so much and already have so little time to watch my shows. Still, lately I have been looking for the Blu-ray sets of the Fifth Doctor, if the price is right, I might consider first purchasing his seasons and who knows, it will trigger me to start purchasing the other Doctors as well!
