I will be honest with you, I did purchase the first season on DVD some 15-20 years ago, but at that moment, I could not pass by episode seven, it was campy, the acting did not seem that well, picture quality of the DVD wasn't that great either. So, no, I never considered this a favorite and yes, it is kind of a risk that I now purchased this complete series.

I read a lot of positive reviews about this Blu-ray release, also from people, like me, who watched it back in the day and weren't impressed with it, now actually kind of like it. Plus another thing, I was always curious about season two, of which I always read some positive reviews. But yeah, I might dislike it again, but at least, I was lucky enough to purchase the set when it was only $36 for a complete series, fully restored and everything. It has never been this low on amazon, in fact, I purchased the set on April 19th, and a day later, the price was back up again to $52 and when I check today (May 2nd) it is even bumped up to $58, to again drop to $52 a day later!

Still I am looking forward to watching it and I will write a blog about it in the coming months.

It is a very nice compact set, with slipbox is not that sturdy but it is also not flimsy. It contains two standard Blu-ray cases, each season consists of 5 discs, 10 in total. It also has some interesting bonus features, shown on the backside of the cover. There is an inner print where you can find the episode titles and a short description of the episodes. Important to me is that there are English subtitles on it, and I am also pleased with the fact that the set is presented in 16:9!

Final Word:

Well this is it, a lot of pictures this time, to show you everything about the set. Regarding the set itself, I am quite satisfied with it, it does not take too much space, nice and compact, you clearly notice that it is handled with respect. As it says above, it is a region code A set, in many cases the set still will be able to be played on the region B player but with SHOUT sets this usually is not the case. However, If you want me to check for you, please let me know in the comments, because I do have a multi region Blu-ray player. If you own this set already, if you know the show well, if you've watched it already once or multiple times, I would really like you to comment on the set in the comments below. I am really curious what people think of this set and of the show itself.  In November of this year, the original Starhunter turns 25! I am planning to write an Anniversary blog for this also.
